Love to shop online and save money? Use these frugal online shopping tips to save money every time you shop online!

Laptop and change

I’m not that big of a shopper. I hate crowds and often feel rushed when shopping. I prefer to shop for most things online, it’s a more relaxing experience for me.

Especially around the holidays, I want to make sure when I’m shopping online that I’m getting the best deals possible. As online shopping becomes more and more popular, there are even more ways to save money shopping online.

Frugal Online Shopping Tips

Follow these tips every time you shop online and you are sure to save a lot of money.

Get Cashback

While this tip doesn’t save you money right away that rebate check is really nice each time it comes. I just got a check the other day and it was like free money for Christmas shopping.

My favorite cashback site is Ebates. It’s super easy to use and has a ton of sites that I use all of the time. They have a browser extension that allows you to see when a site you are shopping has cashback available, that way you never miss out on getting money back.

Just for sign up for Rakuten and you will get $30 back when you spend your first $30. It’s simple to sign up and they can send you a check or you can get paid through Paypal.

Ibotta, which is my favorite cashback app for grocery shopping, also has some online stores that offer cashback. There are even some Amazon cashback offers. It’s free to sign up and easy to use.

Use Online Coupons

You can find coupon codes for stores all of the time. One way I find them is with Rakuten. They have a lot of coupon codes listed on the site for the stores available through the site.

Another good way to get coupon codes is by signing up for the store’s newsletter. Many stores offer a coupon code when you first sign up for their newsletter. We did this a lot when we bought our new house and were needing to buy a lot of bigger items. It helped us save a lot of money.

I like to stay on these newsletters if they are stores I shop at often because you often get emails about deals throughout the year. To keep them from cluttering up my inbox I use Unroll.me. It puts all of the emails into one daily email I can quickly skim.

Shop Around

Many items are available at multiple online shops for different prices. I always check to see if an item I’m looking at is available cheaper on Amazon. We have Amazon Prime so we can get free two-day shipping a lot of times so even if the item is the same price, free shipping can make it cheaper. If you don’t have Amazon Prime you can get a free 30-day trial and see if you like it and it will save you time and money.

You can also search using Google Shopping to see prices at different stores.
