Wedding planning has changed a lot over the years and there are now so many great products and services to make wedding planning less stressful. Basic Invite wants to help make wedding planning easy so they have been kind enough to sponsor this post.

It’s been almost 16 years since I got married and a lot has changed in the wedding world since then. I often see wedding-related blog posts and think “I wish that had been available when I got married.”

Don’t get me wrong, I wanted a simple wedding and I’m happy with the one I had, but there are so many things now that would have made things easier.

I thought it would be fun to share the things I wish had been around when I got married to help any of you planning your own wedding.

Helpful Wedding Planning Tools

Sometimes I’m glad Pinterest wasn’t around when I got married because I think it does make some couples feel like their wedding needs to be some amazing, elaborate, DIY event. However, it would have been so much easier to keep everything organized when planning.

I was in a wedding party a few years ago and the bride had a group board that we could all share things we found that we thought she would like. When I was planning I basically had magazines to find ideas in.

We did do a lot of my wedding decorations ourself and Pinterest would have been helpful for that as well. It can really help if you want to have a wedding on a budget.

Invitations with Pre-Addressed Envelopes

Wedding Invitation

I think one of my least favorite wedding planning activities was addressing envelopes. I had help but even with our small wedding, it took forever.

There are now places like Basic Invite where you can get your wedding invitations made and the addresses printed on the envelopes. We printed our own invites but Basic Invite is affordable and would have been worth the extra cost to have this task done for us. Plus the addressing is free.

They have so many design options so it’s still like designing your own they just do all of the hard work. Their elegant pocket wedding invitations are amazing.

They even let you change the colors of pretty much everything on the card so it can match your wedding colors perfectly. You can even get custom samples to make sure everything is perfect before you order.

You can also get matching thank you cards, save the date cards, shower invitations and so much more. Having a one-stop-shop like this would have been a big time saver.

A Better Website

I had a free wedding website but they are so much nicer and better now. My favorite place to get a free wedding website is Basic Invite because you can have it match the invites that you order from them.

The website is a great place to share your story, share wedding details, collect digital RSVPs, and collect addresses. The wedding website I had basically shared a few details with guests and wasn’t used much.

A Wedding Planner

I think I had a binder for all my wedding things but now you can get amazing wedding planners that keep you organized. This would have been a lifesaver.

Erin Condren has a beautiful wedding planner that is packed with everything you need to keep organized. Everything from monthly checklists, to a calendar, to a budget checklist, contact list, guest list, and so much more.

A planner like this also would have been a great keepsake. I wish I had something like this to look back at and remember planning my wedding.

If you are planning a wedding soon I encourage you to use these great services and products available now. I can’t imagine how much easier and less stressful planning would have been, had I been able to use these products and services.

And don’t forget to check out Basic Invite for all of your wedding stationery needs.
