Plants are a great way to change the look of a house but they can require a lot of care. Using artificial plants instead can reduce your workload and prevent them being killed if you don’t have a green thumb. Nearly Natural makes beautiful artificial plants and is sponsoring this post to show you the benefits of using artificial plants.

I love plants and want them all over my home but I don’t always do the best with potted plants. I’m fine with perennials in flower beds but for some reason, I don’t seem great at keeping potted plants, especially annuals alive.

I’ve started to use more artificial flowers and plants to still get the look of plants but without the risk of me killing them. There are many other benefits to using artificial plants as well.

Low Maintenance

I’m terrible at remembering to water plants. It’s also a pain to get someone else to water plants if you go on a trip. You also often need to add fertilizer to real plants, most need sunlight limited where you can put them, and soil often needs to be added.

I have killed far too many real plants, especially annuals. I’ve already killed a few this year!

Pest-Free

This is one that has been a bigger deal this year for me. Fire ants are everywhere where I live right now and we’ve even had some find their way into the house. The soil in planters can sometimes attract ants so it’s something we have to be really mindful of now. We found this with some plants outside. I had some pots I was going to put some flowers in and they were full of fire ants. That’s not a fun surprise!

After finding the ants I have been getting rid of some of the pots and considering getting some artificial plants instead. I have never been one to put artificial plants outside but this could be a great way to avoid more ants. Plus did I mention I forget to water plants?

Long Lasting

I’m always sad when a plant dies, which with me forgetting to water them happens a bit too often. It feels like I wasted money and then I have an empty pot I feel like I need to fill. With artificial plants, you only have to replace them if you want a new look.

Quick Way to Change the Look of Your Home

It’s fun to change up the look of your home from time to time. I like to do this seasonally and real plants don’t work to be changed seasonally unless you have someplace to store them and keep them alive. Artificial plants can be stored in a box with other seasonal decor so it’s easy to change them out.

Recently I wanted to add more of a summer look to my porch but it’s going to be a very hot summer and plants struggle with the heat. I found out about Nearly Natural and decided that was the perfect answer. I picked out a super cute lemon wreath for my front door and added an aqua ribbon. It won’t die in the heat and all summer it will keep my porch looking great. I’m really loving the look it gave the porch.

Finding Good Artifical Plants

One issue is that artificial plants often look artificial and not that great. Cheap ones often don’t last because they start to fall apart. This is part of why I haven’t really had many in my home.

Being introduced to Nearly Natural has opened up more possibilities for artificial plants for me. Getting the wreath from them has shown me just how good the quality is and how realistic they look.

I also love that they have outdoor-friendly plants, now that I have the ant problem that is something I’m very interested in for my back patio. I have a feeling my collection of plants is going to grow a lot now that I have a place to get realistic artificial plants.

If you want to get some realistic artificial plants for your home I highly recommend checking out the wide selection at Nearly Natural. Use the coupon code GreenThumbLS to get 20% off of your purchase. The code is good until July 15th.
