Being sick during the holidays is never fun but if you take a few measures ahead of time you can help keep yourself healthy during the holiday season.

The holidays are here and we all are so busy. It’s really easy to forget to take care of ourselves and let our health take a backseat to everything else we have going on.

I’ve talked a lot about having a stress-free Christmas and part of that is taking care of ourselves. If we let our health go we can end up adding to our stress level. When we take care of ourselves we can do more for others and enjoy the holidays more.

There are so many ways we can make sure to fit self-care and staying healthy into our holiday routines. You just have to make sure to make it a priority.

Staying Healthy During The Holidays

Have a Morning and Evening Routine

Our schedule often ends up crazy during the holidays. Having a morning and evening routine can help you stay on track even when the rest of your day is busy and anything but routine.

Your routines don’t have to be long or complicated but these are good times to work in things that are priorities. My routines are very simple.

Morning Routine

  • Watch a short video or read while drinking a cup of tea.
  • Empty the dishwasher and fill.
  • Brush teeth, wash face, get dressed, do hair and makeup.

Evening Routine

  • Take my vitamins.
  • Pick up around the house.
  • Start dishwasher.
  • Get ready for bed (i.e. shower, skincare, brush teeth).

There are other things I like to do when I have time but these are the things that are my priorities.

Take Your Vitamins

Nature Made Energy B12 vitamin bottles

One of the things in my evening routine is taking my vitamins. I feel my best when I remember my vitamins and having that as part of my routine helps.

I take a multi-vitamin, of course, but another vitamin I like to take, especially during the holidays, is Nature Made® Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies.

Nature Made® Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies contain 1000 mcg vitamin B12 per serving. B12 is so important and something I find really helps me feel my best.

I like the Nature Made® Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies because they come in delicious cherry and mixed berry flavors and Nature Made® gives you the assurance that you’re getting the nutrients you seek from your Gummies.

Nature Made® has the 1st Gummies to receive USP verification. The U.S. Pharmacopeia Convention (USP) is a third-party nonprofit organization that verifies products for purity, potency, and quality. This helps me feel good about taking these vitamins.

Plan Time for Exercise

Exercise is another thing I make a priority. There are so many delicious treats during the holidays so exercise is even more important.

This is something that can be part of your morning or evening routine but for me, I prefer working out in the afternoon. I work out after I’m done with my computer work for the day.

If a day is really busy I will do a short workout because something is better than nothing. You can find great videos online of 15 minutes, or even less, workouts. Even a quick walk around the neighborhood helps.

Follow the 80/20 Rule for Eating

I’m not that into pumpkin spice, for me it’s peppermint everything! That can be dangerous when the holidays roll around. With my major sweet tooth, I can end up eating far too much junk.

That doesn’t mean you have to give up all of the amazing treats. I’m a firm believer in moderation. I really like the 80/20 rule. Eat really healthy food 80% of the time and don’t worry too much about 20%.

My husband and I like to eat well all week but on Saturday we will indulge. It helps us stay on track and have our favorite treats without going overboard.

Following these tips and being sure to take care of yourself will help you have a healthy and happy holiday season! Learn more about Nature Made and USP here.
