Girl Scout cookies are delicious but the cookie season is far too short. Stock up now and you can freeze Girl Scout cookies to enjoy later!

It’s Girl Scout cookie season. It’s a very delicious way to support the Girl Scouts but it’s not the best if you are trying to eat junk food in moderation.

If you have cut cookies out of your diet or simply have no control around them you can make a donation instead. It’s a great way to still help without the temptation.

If you can manage moderation you can also freeze Girl Scout cookies. This is a great way to spread them out and have cookies long after cookie season ends.

How Do You Freeze Girl Scout Cookies?

Girl Scout cookie boxes actually have a “use or freeze by” date on the box, unless that variety is not recommended for freezing. You want to make sure you freeze them by that date for maximum freshness.

If you are freezing Girl Scout cookies that haven’t been open simply keep them in the original packaging. Leave space between each box if possible.

If you are freezing an opened package or want to freeze small amounts, simply use a freezer bag or airtight glass container. Make sure to label the containers with the type of cookie and the date you froze them.

The cookies are best if consumed within 3 months of freezing. They are safe much longer but they will taste the best if they aren’t frozen much longer than 3 months.

Thin Mints are delicious when consumed straight out of the freezer, which is a bit dangerous if you are freezing them to help yourself not eat as many.

Where to Can You Find Girl Scout Cookies?

If you don’t already have someone to buy Girl Scout cookies find places they will be sold in your area on the Girl Scouts’ website. You can even order Girl Scout Cookies online now.

Moderation is always important with a healthy diet but in most cases, it’s fine to treat yourself from time to time. I love to use Girl Scout cookies as a treat because I’m also helping to support young girls.

Freezing Girl Scout cookies make this easier and means I get to enjoy the cookies even longer!

Okay. I love this. But I know I’ll never do it because I don’t have the sort of willpower that allows me to put cookies in the freezer. Like, I try to stop, but I can’t. Cookie Monster ain’t got nothing on me.

I am a Girl Scout cookie addict?, my new favorite flavor is the s’mores, they are truly addictive, I need to remember to order more than one package of them! My next favorite flavor is the short bread cookies, heck I’ll just about try each flavor! The cookies need to be sold longer or year round! I love dunking the short bread cookies in coffee, that’s a little dangerous though because I’ll end up a whole sleeve of one in one sitting ?

What I want to know is if you can REFRIGERATE Girl Scout Cookies, and does it prolong shelf life. Are there certain variety that cannot be refrigerated?

You can but it wouldn’t prolong the shelf life. It could change the texture as well. It’s best to freeze them if you want to keep them fresh longer.
