Have a fun Valentine’s Day with these unique Valentine’s Day date ideas and gift ideas. You’ll never have a boring Valentine’s Day with these uncommon ideas. This post was sponsored by Uncommon Goods. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Valentine’s Day can be full of clichés. We often do the same things year after year and give the same gifts. I’ve been married now for 15 years so we’ve had a lot of Valentine’s Days. While doing the same thing year after year is okay, it’s more exciting to try new things.

We like to try and find fun and different things to do each year. It helps keep things interesting. While this year will likely be spent at home we can still make it fun and unique.

If you do the same thing each year and give the same kinds of gifts, try something new this year. It’s fun to experience new things together and if it’s something unique you’ll remember it more clearly.

Need some ideas to help you out? Here are some of my picks for fun and uncommon Valentine’s Day dates and gifts.

First Valentine’s Day Date

If you have been in your current relationship for a while it can be a lot of fun to recreate your first Valentine’s Day together. Plus since you’ve already had this date it’s pretty much pre-planned for you!

Skip the Crowds and Have a Fun Date at Home

Restaurants can be very busy on Valentine’s Day. If crowds aren’t your thing why not stay home. You can cook a meal together or one can cook and the other can plan the rest of the evening. The options for this are endless.

Have a Fondue Party for Two

This idea kind of goes along with the date night at home idea, why not have some fondue? You can have several fondue courses or just one, whatever you prefer. You can even make another date night out of going to the store together and picking out your ingredients.

Instead of Dinner, Go Out for Brunch

Dinner is the common meal to share on Valentine’s Day but how about brunch instead? Or you could make a whole day of it and do both!

Go to a Local Spa for a Little Pampering

Seems like we are all overly stressed these days so a day at the spa could be perfect. Book some couples treatments and spend the day relaxing together.

Visit a Local Museum

Exploring a local museum is a fun and relaxing way to spend the day. Pick one you haven’t gone to before or maybe it’s just been awhile. Take your time and discuss the exhibits together.

Host a Wine Tasting at Your House

We don’t often think of having group dates on Valentine’s Day but this can be a lot of fun. Each couple can bring their favorite wine and an appetizer for everyone to enjoy.

Have a Progressive Dinner with Friends

Another fun group date idea is to have a progressive dinner. Each couple hosts one part of the meal at their house, this also helps spread out all of the work.

Have you made your plans for Valentine’s Day yet? What are some of your favorite date and gift ideas? Be sure to check out Uncommon Goods, I’d love to know some of your favorite things they offer.

I got my husband whiskey stones for Valentine’s Day last year! He loved them. They’re so manly! Great list! I love the idea of visiting a museum, too. I’d love that!

I love this post! I need to think of something for my fiancé and this is such a great list! I also love your alternative date ideas especially the recreating our first valentines date! We had started dating not too long before Valentines day our “technical” first one, and it was kind of horrible so we just say it doesn’t count, but the next year would be so fun to recreate! 🙂 thanks for sharing!

Ooo, great ideas! I love the What I Love About You book! We’ve been married for 10 years as well. I used to make it all fun and creative, but we’ve gotten into a rut. I definitely need to try more of these ideas out

LOVE progressive dinners! I actually did a post on them once (maybe now would be a good time to haul it out of the archives!)… but in Atlanta, most people live in different suburbs and traffic is so terrible it takes ages to get from one to the next. When my friends were visiting from out of state, we had a progressive dinner RESTAURANT style! We stayed on the same street (that was basically ALL restaurants) and ordered a bottle of wine at each one. We had a blast! Also, I’m a sucker for a spa. Great list!

Great gift ideas! I got my husband whiskey stones one year and he thought I’d lost my mind. He never used them.
