Summer will be here soon so now is the time to pick out some vintage dresses for the season. Truly vintage dresses can be hard to come by, expensive, and usually tiny. Thankfully there are a lot of great brands out there making beautiful vintage dress styles today in all sizes and often less expensive.
Another benefit to these vintage-inspired dresses is the fact that they are easier to care for. I have several true vintage pieces but I wear them less often than my vintage-inspired items because they are so much more work to care for.
Now, I did originally write this back in 2020, things were different then. I’m not promoting things on Amazon anymore and also want to encourage us all to buy less new stuff, especially fast fashion.
But I’m also realistic and not perfect. Must of us are still going to buy things so when we do it’s good to try and support better companies and buy higher quality items that will last. I have found these dresses to hold up well, especially if you care for them well.
Don’t forget to also check out your local thrift stores for clothes. Or places like ThreadUp. And if you are going to buy new, buy pieces you know you will wear for years and years.

I sew, and I have some of this fabric and these patterns to make. I love that I can get these looks in my sewing room with a custom fit. And once I get the pattern adjustments made I can make them in several fabrics for different looks. but being able to buy them is great also.
