Refrigerators have gained a lot of features over the years but they have lost a lot of their style. Almost everyone seems to have a stainless steel fridge these days, you may see a few white and black ones from time to time but that’s all. Growing up my grandma had a red fridge. It was fun and something unique in the sea of black and white fridges (stainless wasn’t common yet).

When I bought the house I’m in now that was built in 1963 and has a mostly original kitchen I went with a white fridge because it’s more of a vintage feel than black or stainless but I would have loved a red or aqua fridge. Or at least white with stainless steel handles.

There are starting to be a few more retro refrigerator options now and even some of the more modern-looking fridges are adding more color options which can also be fun.

If you are in the market for a new fridge or just dreaming of a retro kitchen, you will love this list of retro refrigerators.

GE has discontinued the Artistry Line, a lot of problems and dissatisfied customers.

That’s too bad. When I posted it was still available. In my research, it seems like so many fridges have bad reviews now. We have an LG right now and there was a lawsuit over an issue we had. I wish things were still made to last.
