Looking for an affordable planner? Check out my mini Recollections Planner review. It’s the planner from Michaels and it’s a great budget-friendly planner.

I tried for years to be a one planner person. It seemed like the best way to be organized, have it all in one place. For some people, it likely is a good way to do things but it doesn’t work for me.

For the last couple of years, I’ve instead had a personal planner and a blog planner. For my personal planner this year I’m using an Erin Condren Life Planner.

For my blog planner, I decided to try a mini Recollections planner. I like having something small for my blog planner because I do take it with me from time to time.

I waited a bit late to get mine in the store, I believe it was near the end of December. Things were pretty picked over but there were still a few options.

I’ve now been using the planner for over a month so I want to share my thoughts with you. This is for the mini version but they are all pretty similar from what I have seen.

The mini Recollections planner is only 5.14″ x 7.14″ making it very easy to travel with. I don’t carry very large purses but still can fit it in one if I need to.

The planners come with many different covers and styles. I chose the Creative Year Icons version. I thought the coffee cups were great for the fact that it is my blog planner and I love donuts so that also works.

The planner is a 12-month, dated planner. It goes from January- December, which is how I run my business as well.

It has a horizontal weekly layout with a fair amount of space to write. This is where I keep my daily to-dos. In the monthly view, I keep track of upcoming events, sales, holidays, etc…

It is a spiral-bound planner so you can’t really add anything into the planner. I haven’t found this to be an issue so far but it was one reason I considered getting a mini Happy Planner instead.

The planner also has a few notes pages and a place for important contacts. This is nice because I can add any business contacts I may want to keep track of.

I also love that it does come with 95 stickers. I like to use stickers in my planners and it’s always great to have some built in. Especially since this planner is much smaller than my personal planner so a lot of the stickers I already have don’t fit very well.

Final Thoughts on the Mini Recollections Planner

Overall I’m happy with the planner. I did notice after I got it home that there is an extra hole on the cover that isn’t in the binding. It’s kind of annoying but I didn’t notice until I got it home and didn’t want to try and return it. I would check your planner well just in case this is a common issue.

The price of the planner is great. It’s $14.99 but you can almost always get a coupon from Michaels to make it even cheaper. I believe mine was under $10 because it was on sale. If you order online you can use Ebates to get cash back on your order.

I may try a mini Happy Planner next year because I like trying different planners but I will likely buy a Recollections planner again in the future.
