Must-Have Natural Makeup

Makeup can be a lot of fun but it can also contain terrible ingredients. Thankfully there are a lot of great natural brands out there that are much safer. One of those great brands is Juice Beauty who has kind sponsored this post.

Must-Have Natural Makeup, organic makeup, juice beauty

Several years ago I started making the switch to natural makeup. The options were limited at that time but thankfully there are more and more options now. Even stores like Ulta now carry natural brands.

I’m a makeup junkie so don’t think you’ll have to give up all the fun makeup and just do very natural looks with natural makeup. You can still have a smokey eye, red lips, and contour like a Kardashian if you want. You just will be missing all the nasty ingredients that can be found in conventional makeup

*Be sure to make it to the end of this post for a special giveaway! You don’t want to miss it.*

Why You Should Use Natural Makeup

Surely makeup has to be tested for safety, right? Well not really. The Food and Drug Administration has no authority to required companies to test cosmetics for safety. The FDA only does pre-market reviews of certain cosmetic color additives and active ingredients that are classified as over-the-counter drugs.

This means we have to do our own research. You may remember several years ago high levels of lead were found in lipsticks. Thankfully most companies got a lot of push back on that and are starting to fix the issue but there are many other bad ingredients hiding in your makeup, several of which are endocrine disruptors.

Better and Safer Makeup

I recommend slowly switching your makeup as you use things up. It can get pricey if you try to do it all at once but if you do it gradually it won’t break your budget.

One of my favorite brands of makeup is Juice Beauty. I’ve used their skin care line for years and over the last couple of years they’ve really expanded their makeup line and it’s great!

Their Phyto-Pigment line was developed using certified organic ingredients under Gwyneth Paltrow’s creative leadership. It’s really high quality and great for your skin, which is great if you are like me and often skip taking your makeup off.

I’ve tried most of the makeup line and want to share my eight favorite items with you. It’s a great place to start when making the switch.

Juice Beauty MakeupIlluminating Primer

This is a lightweight primer without any silicones. It’s great for your skin and even has an age-defying serum built in. It leaves the skin looking smooth and helps your makeup last.

Serum FoundationJuice Beauty Makeup

My daytime foundation is from Everyday Minerals because I like loose powder foundation that’s very natural, I often wear Juice Beauty’s tinted moisturizer under it. But sometimes for nights out you want something with more coverage. That’s when I use the Juice Beauty serum foundation. It leaves a nice glow and is perfect for a night out.

Juice Beauty MakeupFlash Luminizer

These luminizers are amazing. They are color duos and they have three shades options. My favorite is the bronzing duo. They make contouring so easy and I love having two shades in one stick. And you can make the contour as heavy or light as you’d like very easily so even for my pale skin it works well, I just use a light hand.

Perfecting ConcealerJuice Beauty Makeup

This is my favorite concealer for under-eyes ever. It’s highly pigmented and very creamy. It makes my eyes look brighter and even helps reduce fine lines. This is a product I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do without. It’s also hard for me to find a concealer light enough for me and this one comes in a shade that is perfect for me.

Juice Beauty MakeupCream Blush

I love these cream blushes. The colors are great and buildable. They also feel great on the skin and have a moisture blend that keeps your skin hydrated. The colors come from plant pigments which is very cool and safer than a lot of blushes out there.

MascaraJuice Beauty makeup

I have very sensitive eyes but this ultra-natural mascara doesn’t bother my eyes at all. It’s clump-free and buildable. It is a bit of a wet formal but if that is your preference it will be perfect. The wet formal does mean it’s not flaky which is really nice.

Juice Beauty makeupSatin Lip Cream

This satin lipstick is beautiful and very moisturizing. It’s nicely pigmented and it’s the perfect balance between matte and glossy. Lipstick is one of those things I want to make sure uses really good ingredients because you end up eating a lot of it. These ingredients are ones I feel safe ingesting.

Finishing PowderJuice Beauty makeup

This finishing powder is perfect for setting your makeup. I find it helps keep my makeup looking nice longer and leaves a nice finish. As a bonus a little goes a long way so it will last you awhile.

Which of these do you want to try first? If you have any questions about these products or any other Juice Beauty products let me know. I have used most of their skin care and makeup items and I’m happy to answer questions.

Giveaway

I have a special surprise for this post. The nice people at Juice Beauty want to offer one lucky reader a $200 gift code. This would be a great way to try out a lot of their great products and start making the switch to natural makeup and skin care.

I”m most interested in trying the concealer because my under-eye bags are my most prominent beauty issue.

I love cream blush too! Do you know what Juice Beauty’s policy is for testing for heavy metals in their color products? They are often higher in natural makeup since they often contaminate raw materials.

I, too, have very sensitive eyes thanks to Sjögren’s Syndrome. I’m highly interested in trying the mascara. It will be better for me than all the other mascara I’ve been using. It’s important to put more natural ingredients on my face. All of these products look awesome!

These products look great. I hardly get to wear makeup bc im home with my kids…but once in a blue moon when The Hubs and I get to have a date night, I feel better knowing that the make up that I’m using is safe for my skin!

It’s so difficult to choose just one, I didn’t know Juice beauty had so many products. I’d have to go with the concealer. I’ve tried so many that either don’t match or amplify my fine lines. This sounds excellent.

I’m totally guilty of not taking some of my makeup off at night, too – so much easier to just clean my skin with a wipe and not have to redo my mascara from scratch the next morning! But I would feel a lot less guilty about that choice if I used more natural makeup like this – thank you for your recommendations! It’s so hard to know what’s good quality without recommendations – so many natural products have fewer chemicals and are ethically produced, but don’t actually get the job done!
