The Best Clean Makeup Brands

Love makeup but want to avoid the hidden dangerous in your makeup? These natural makeup brands can help you feel good about your makeup.

We’d like to think that all the makeup we can buy is safe but the truth is the FDA has no authority to require companies to test cosmetics for safety. Very few ingredients and products are reviewed by the agency before going on the market.

I love makeup so just giving it up isn’t an option. I did however clean up my makeup supply several years ago. Now I have a huge collection of makeup that I can feel safe using. I wanted to share my favorite brands with you. I use some other brands as well but these are the ones that I feel safe using at least most of their products.

I still recommend reading the ingredeints and looking the product up on Skin Deep to see if you feel comfortable with what it contains and possible risks. 

My Favorite Natural Makeup Brands

Everyday Minerals

I have been using their foundation and other makeup for years. It’s the first natural makeup brand I really got into and I love their foundation so much. I’ve gotten several friends to switch, even ones that aren’t that concerned about the ingredients in their makeup.

My favorite product: Everyday Minerals Base in Semi-Matte

BareMinerals

BareMinerals has some ingredients that I don’t like to use but overall is a clean product. I use a lot of their products and love how accessable it is.

My favorite product: Statement Luxe-Shine Lipstick

Juice Beauty

This is my go-to for skin care and a few years ago they added makeup. Their range is still pretty small but they have some amazing products. 

My favorite product: Stem Cellular CC Cream

Pacifica

This is another brand that I like for their skin care. I also like their parfumes. It’s another brand that is pretty accessable, even Target carries a lot of their products.

My favorte product: Eye Shadow Palletes 

Tarte

This is one I have to caution you about and is why I say you should check each product from a brand. Their products rank everywhere from 1 to 6 (0 meaning no risk) on Skin Deep’s database.

They have some great safe options, just be careful which of their products you choose. Hopefully overtime they will continue to clean up their ingredients.
