I’ve been renting clothing for several years now and it’s such a fun way to try new styles and get special clothing, especially for events. With the holidays coming up there are lots of events to think about and the thought of buying outfits for all of them can be overwhelming and expensive.

A great option instead, especially if you prefer more of a capsule wardrobe, is the rent clothing for holiday events. It’s easier than you think and there are a lot of options now. Even if your events are more casual you can rent clothing!

How to Rent Clothing for the Holidays

There are several things to think about when deciding what you want to do when it comes to renting clothing for the holidays.

  • What events will you be attending?
  • What can you use that you already own?
  • Will you be traveling and need the items early?

Once you know those things you can get a better idea of what service or services will work best for you. If you have the time it’s even better to sign up early to try a few things first to make sure you like the service(s) you choose.

The Best Clothing Rental Services for the Holidays

There are so many clothing rental services out there now. I even have a whole guide about clothing rental on this site you can check out where I add new services all of the time.

I want to highlight the ones I think are best for the holidays here so you can quickly choose one or two to try out. Many even have discounts or free trials to get you started.

Best for Casual Parties- Gwynnie Bee

Gwynnie Bee is my favorite clothing rental service overall because they have so many brands I love! They even have a lot of vintage-inspired items if that is your thing.

They don’t have a lot of fancy outfits but they do have really cute casual dresses for daytime parties and more casual get-togethers. The other really great thing is they have very inclusive sizing so it can work for just about every body type.

Get 50% off your first Gwynnie Bee box plus $10.

Best for Cocktail Parties- Armoire

I have used this service a few times for their regular option and I really enjoyed it. They have some really nice brands that have high-quality items.

You can try Armoire today for $69 for your first month – rent 4 items at a time, with unlimited swaps!

Best for Fancy Parties- Rent the Runway

Rent the Runway has beautiful dresses for all kinds of parties but is the best option for black-tie events. I’ve used Rent the Runway multiple times including to get a fancy dress for a birthday one year, I got so many compliments on it.

Best Clothing Rental for Maternity- Armoire

While I have never tried a clothing rental service for maternity I am in a lot of clothing rental groups and the one that I see recommended often is Armoire. I have enjoyed their regular clothing subscription in the past.

You can try Armoire today for $69 for your first month – rent 4 items at a time, with unlimited swaps!

Honestly I think that rent a dress is perfect, because It permits you to wear a different dress for every event without bankruptcy. Maybe if you have a season full of events with same guest lists, buy a different outfit for everyevent can be really expensive, also becuse maybe you ear it only once. While renting there isn’t this problem!!! I think is a great deal!!!
