Want to plan the perfect graduation party? You need a fun graduation party idea and a few tips to make it all easier. These graduation party ideas are 2021 friendly and can include everyone. Basic Invite has sponsored this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

While graduation ceremonies and graduation parties aren’t anything new they have grown over the last decades. One thing I found very interesting is when looking through some 1950s magazines talk about graduation was very minimal.

Out of curiosity, I searched the Better Homes & Garden’s archives and found only a couple of articles that even talked about graduation gifts and one punch recipe when looking at recipes.

Now graduations are a huge celebration. Which is understandable. Education is important and a lot of work so it’s fun to celebrate that hard work.

Graduation season can sneak up on you. I’ve got a few friends graduating from college this year and I didn’t really think about the fact that it is that time of year again until they were talking about preparing for graduations.

After the year we have had I think it’s a great time to celebrate. Safely, of course, following current guidelines. And if you are looking for some graduation party ideas I have you covered! Plus ideas for the best custom graduation invitations.

Amazing Graduation Party Ideas

Virtual Graduation Party

If you don’t feel comfortable having an in-person party or live far away from friends and family, a virtual graduation party can be a fun way to celebrate.

I’ve attended a virtual baby shower, virtual Christmas parties, and all kinds of virtual events over the last year. It may not be the same as in-person but there are advantages, like not having to clean the house, and I love that you can include people that otherwise couldn’t make it.

Also, consider a hybrid party with a virtual option and in-person. A friend had a hybrid baby shower this spring and it was a lot of fun. She did it in a very simple way, just a laptop set up in the room connected to a TV so people could see everyone attending on Zoom and we could see the in-person people. Those on Zoom were able to watch gifts being opened and play some of the games.

This is a great option not only in 2021 but any year when you have people that can’t attend in person.

Outdoor Graduation Party

Many people are looking to have outdoor graduation parties this year, which is a really fun option. Especially for summer graduations.

Outdoor graduation parties can also be cheaper to host as most outdoor locations for parties are much cheaper, you can even find free outdoor spaces you can use.

Most party themes can be used for outdoor graduation parties but there are some that are even more fun for the outdoors. Things like BBQs, an ice cream party, even a pool party, would all be fun options, get creative.

Vintage Graduation Party

I have to include a vintage party theme, of course. My personal choice would be a soda shop theme. You could make fun drinks like malts, coke floats, and coffee floats. And have all the decor be 1950s diner-themed.

If the more retro feel isn’t your style there are lots of other vintage ideas. You could go with a more rustic vintage graduation party or even have a vintage garden party.

The most important thing is if you aren’t the graduate make sure they love the party theme. It’s about celebrating their accomplishments and you want them to have a fun time.

Graduation Announcements and Party Invitations

It’s important to get your graduation invites sent out as soon as possible to give people time to plan if they need to travel. It’s also a busy time of the year so giving warnings can be helpful so people can attend.

Basic Invite is a great place to look for all kinds of invitations, including custom graduation invitations. You really can find anything you need. I almost went to nursing school and loved to see they even have nurse graduation announcements.

I love Basic Invite for all kinds of custom invitations and stationery. You can get almost any color that will allow you to match the school colors. And it’s not just a few of the card colors you can change, it’s every element on the card.

You can get custom samples to make sure your graduation invitations are perfect. It’s not a random sample, it’s your actual custom invitation.

The other things I love are the wide range of envelopes, there are over 40 colors and they are peel and seal. Plus they have address capturing to make getting addresses easy and they will print the recipient addresses at no cost.

Right now you can get 15% off with coupon code 15FF51 making Basic Invite an even better choice for your graduation announcements and graduation party invitations.

All of the photos of graduation announcements in this post are cards from Basic Invite. They have so many beautiful options!
