Our new home came with lots of lovely flower beds, a nice size yard, and a great covered porch I love both but especially during springtime they are a lot of work. It seems like as soon as we are done mowing it needs it again and you should see my flower beds, it’s not pretty! Adding to the struggle, it’s starting to get pretty warm here in Oklahoma. After being outside for a couple of hours you really need to cool off.

One of my favorite refreshing beverages to drink after a hot day outside is lemonade. I’ve tried lemonade from several places around here and several brands and even for me many are just too sweet or don’t taste like real lemons.

I have made my own many times and it’s not hard but the last thing you want to do after a long day in the sun is make lemonade. However, if you want to give me the job of making the lemonade and you want to do my yard work I will gladly make that trade! I’ll even make it with fresh squeezed lemon juice. Feel free to leave your offers in the comments below.

a glass of strawberry lemonade with glass straw

While plain lemonade is delicious it’s fun to mix it up sometimes. My favorite lemonade is strawberry lemonade. Again these are normally extremely sweet and full of dyes and other nasty ingredients.

You can make your own strawberry syrup for lemonade but that takes quite a bit of work. Another easier option is to make a frozen strawberry lemonade! This takes less time and effort than making from-scratch lemonade so still easy after a hard day of work.

For the recipe I used store-bought lemonade and because I wanted it to be healthier so I used really strawberries and no extra sugar. It’s best that you use frozen strawberries so you it’s easy to keep the supplies on hand.

Added bonus, this drink has less calories than normal lemonade, less added sugar, and more fiber. I wouldn’t say it’s a healthy drink but it’s a healthier treat!

If you are looking for a good store-bought lemonade I highly recommend Honest Original Lemonade. It uses fair trade and organic ingredients, which is very important to me. Honest Tea sent me some of their lemonades to try and they are awesome. It’s my new favorite store-bought lemonade.

You can switch this recipe up using different frozen fruits. Also if you want it more or less slushy, just change the amount of ice. It’s so easy to change this up to fit your tastes.
