Clutter makes our homes look messy and it can even cause stress. A great way to tackle the clutter issue is with one of these decluttering challenges.

A few years ago when we were moving to this house I did a lot of decluttering. I hate moving and moving more stuff seemed like a really terrible idea.

Ever since I have tried to keep on top of clutter but it has a way of sneaking back in. Our current house is 1,350 square feet and we both work from home so we have two home offices. That means we really need to keep on top of things.

If I’m being really honest I’d prefer going to The Container Store and picking out lots of great organization tools than actually do the work to declutter and then organize. Anyone else?

One thing I like to do from time to time is a decluttering challenge. It really helps me get motivated to do a really good job on the clutter.

We’ve talked about moving again in the future and that thought alone is enough to make me really want to be sure I do these challenges often. Did I mention I really hate moving?

I’ve found some great decluttering challenges over the year so I wanted to share some of my favorites with you. Pick the one that looks the most interesting to you and tackle that clutter!

This is a challenge I’m going to do soon. My closet is pretty overwhelming and I actually rent a lot of my clothes so I need to go through it and get rid of a lot.

Pockets Full of Wonder has a great blog series all about decluttering closet that can really help to motivate you to get it done.

Paper Organization Challenge

Paper clutter is a big one that can be hard to tackle. It’s always piling up on my desk, in my kitchen, and many other places in my house.

Clean & Organize 365 Challenge

One of the best ways to stay on top of decluttering is by doing it all of the time. It doesn’t seem like as big of a job when you just do a little bit at a time.

Everyday Savvy’s Clean & Organize 365 Challenge is a great way to stay motivated. She sends out monthly printables that will help you get it done.

Photo Organization Challenge

Do you take a ton of digital photos? I know I do. If you are like me they aren’t organized at all. It may not be physical clutter but digital clutter is a big problem as well.

Good + Simple has a great Photo Organization Challenge that will help you organize your digital photos so you can find them and enjoy them more.
