Want to make a delicious frappe at home? Try this chocolate chip cookie dough homemade frappe. It’s easy to make and sure to be a new favorite.
We love homemade chocolate chip cookie dough around here. I make an egg-free version that is safe to eat raw and super delicious. While it’s good on its own it’s also great in homemade ice cream and these homemade frappes!
I love making homemade coffee drinks, especially frappes. You can save money plus you get to experiment with unique flavors you can’t get anywhere else.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough HOMEMADE FRAPPE
Chocolate chip cookie dough shakes are great but with this homemade frappe you get all the fun of a shake plus coffee and you don’t need any ice cream.
In addition to this base recipe, you can also add a chocolate or caramel drip in your glass like in the photo. And of course whipped cream is also great, maybe a few mini-chocolate chips or sprinkles as well.
MAKING HOMEMADE FRAPPES
While the best frappes are made with a high-powered blender like a Vitamix blender you can make them in any blender at home. I just use my pretty basic blender. It can take a bit longer and leave more pieces of ice with a normal blender but it’s still delicious.
The basic idea is coffee, milk, and ice. You can also use dairy-free milk, I really like to use Oatly or Ripple which I get from Thrive Market. To make it more authentic you can use espresso instead of strong coffee. I like to list strong coffee in the recipe because not everyone has an espresso machine at home.
I do highly recommend getting an espresso maker if you enjoy making coffee at home. I have a very affordable stovetop option. You can find one like mine on Amazon.
Another good option is using cold brew. There are a lot of ways to make cold brew, my favorite is with a simple cold brew maker we keep in the fridge with coffee at all times so it’s ready to go.
You can use this recipe and change up the flavors to make whatever kind of homemade frappe you’d like. You can also try more of the ones I’ve come up with.

These are some of my favorite things in my kitchen when it comes to creating delicious coffee drinks at home.
A simple, stainless steel stovetop espresso maker will up your coffee game without taking up a lot of space or your budget. These glasses are fun for frappes, shakes, and more. They have a fun retro feel and I use them all the time in my house. Skip the plastic straws and choose glass instead. If you are concerned about a hard straw silicone or paper are also better options. We always have cold brew in the fridge and it's so simple with this cold brew maker.
