You must try these brown butter chocolate chip cookies, they are amazing. The brown butter takes these chocolate chip cookies to another level.
My husband wasn’t a big fan of homemade chocolate chip cookies when we started dating. I found this so hard to believe because I love them.
Turns out he just hadn’t been given the right homemade chocolate chip cookies yet. Surely he had to like mine, I’ve been baking since I was two years old. Making cookies is kind of my thing.
I was right and now he wants me to make chocolate chip cookies all of the time. We often have some chocolate chip cookie dough in the freezer.
Recently he tried brown butter chocolate chip cookies from Whole Foods and loved them. Since he likes my homemade cookies more than Whole Foods he asked if I could make mine with brown butter, he’s a smart man.
Sometimes I make the brown butter but I’ve also purchased it to save a bit of time. Either way is delicious. It’s amazing how much browning butter changes the flavor.
The only problem with this recipe is once you try it you don’t want to make chocolate chip cookies with regular butter anymore. I mean you will because they are still delicious and sometimes you don’t want to brown butter but you will wish you had these instead.
I recommend doubling the batch and freezing half of the dough. Just scoop it out on to cookie sheets lined with wax paper, stick the dough in the freezer until they are frozen and put the dough balls into a container. Then you can easily have cookies whenever you want them. This is really great if you have last-minute guests.
Now on to the life-changing brown butter chocolate chip cookies recipe. Be sure to let me know what you think if you make them, but don’t blame me if they wreck your diet.
