I love baking all year, I started baking around 2 years old with my grandma and I have never stopped loving it.

During the holidays I enjoy baking even more and take cookies to most holiday events. Cookies were the first thing I started baking and still a favorite.

It’s easy to make up some cookies to take with you and they are always a hit. Most cookie recipes also freeze well either as dough or already baked cookies. This makes them the perfect holiday treat to make up ahead of time.

I try to keep at least one batch of cookie dough in my freezer at all times during the holidays. Then if we want a few cookies with a Christmas movie I just pull a few out and bake them or if we have a last-minute party to go to or guests I can bake up a batch in less than 20 minutes!

I also love to give cookies as gifts. Most of us have plenty of stuff and homemade treats seem less common these days so they are even more appreciated.

I have so many cookie recipes I love to use during the holidays but I wanted to share just a few that are my favorites. These are the ones I make at least almost every year and they are always a hit.

Freezing Cookies Tips

As I said, I love to freeze cookie dough to have on hand during the holiday season. This is really simple to do and makes the holidays so much less stressful.

I recommend starting in about September or October with making your cookie dough. 3 months is a good amount of time to keep cookies frozen.

Make your dough like normal and just roll the cookies into balls and place them on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Place the cookie sheet in your freezer until the cookies are frozen.

To bake simply add a couple of minutes to the bake time. No need to thaw. They should come out just as delicious as if you didn’t freeze them. Some are even better because the butter is nice and cold.

All of these cookies look so delicious but I think the first ones that I want to try are the sunflower butter ones!
