Celebrate Halloween with the best 1950s Halloween movies including the best 1950s horror movies and some fun campy Halloween movies.

This was originally shared in August 2024. It has been updated to make sure the links are up-to-date. I’m also removing links to streaming services that are currently being boycotted as of September 21, 2025.
The 1950s brought us a lot of classic horror movies and monster movies. While I’m not one to watch a lot of horror movies, I do find most 1950s horror movies to be pretty tame compared to modern horror movies.
Most of my Halloween movie watching is family-friendly Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown, but mixing in some of these vintage horror movies can also make for a fun Halloween movie night.
I’ve found some of the best 1950s Halloween movies to watch this year, so you can add them to your list of movies to watch this season. Don’t forget to also make some vintage Halloween recipes for your movie night.
1950s Halloween Movies

Most of these movies are considered horror movies, so be sure to preview them before letting kids see them.
In addition to the places I will share to stream these movies, another great place to check for these movies is your local library. Libraries have great selections of movies and can often get movies through interlibrary loans if they don’t have what you are looking for. You can also check to see if your library offers Hoopla, which is a streaming platform connected to your library.
