Homemade biscuits are great when eating in savory form or sweet. Perfect with fried chicken or jam and butter with a cup of tea! Sadly, for many the closest thing they have had to a homemade biscuit comes from a can. I do have to say there is something satisfying about popping those cans but the ingredients leave a lot to be desired.
While some will argue that Oklahoma isn’t the south, the part where I live has a lot of southern culture. While most of my family is from California, I still have some southern roots. Sweet tea and buttery biscuits are a must!
The thought of making homemade biscuits is overwhelming at first but really they are quite easy. They are also so much better than those canned biscuits. And remember, real biscuits use real butter!

Making the baking mix ahead of time is a great idea! I bet these biscuits would be good baked on top of a nice chicken casserole.

I have some of the mix on hand at all times. You never know when you will need a biscuit! 🙂 I use it on top of my chicken pot pie, you can find the recipe on the site.

I love biscuits with butter and jam. You can also drop the dough into simmering soup to make dumplings.
Lisa Sharp says
