Popcorn is a delicious snack and when done correctly it can even be healthy. It also can be made in so many ways. One movie night perfect way to eat your popcorn is topped with garlic, parsley, and parmesan, yum!
When we think of popcorn we think of unhealthy movie theater popcorn loaded with fake butter and salt. Don’t get me wrong it’s delicious and I eat it when I go to the movies, along with malt balls, trust me it’s delicious. However, it has to be a rare treat.
For the days when you want some popcorn to snack on but with fewer calories, fat, and better ingredients there are still good options. Just a little butter and salt is delicious but sometimes you want more.
I’ve always been a fan of cheesy popcorn and I eat enough garlic to keep vampires away, so mixing these things is perfect. You can even mix up this topping ahead of time and storage in the fridge. When you are ready for it just sprinkle it on your popcorn and you have a simple movie night snack.
If you want to make it even better, but a bit higher in calories, pour a bit of melted butter on top. You don’t need much to add amazing flavor and it’s still a lot better than a movie theater and microwave popcorn.
The Basic Popcorn
I love making popcorn on the stove with coconut oil. It’s quite easy and very good. However, sometimes you decide randomly you want to binge watch some House of Cards and you need popcorn and don’t want to wait. A good solution to this problem is SkinnyPop popcorn.
It still uses just three simple ingredients but is ready to go. That’s what I used in this recipe and it was perfect. It took just a few minutes to throw together.
I mixed up a batch of this garlic parmesan popcorn seasoning, melted a bit of butter, poured the butter on some SkinnyPop popcorn, and sprinkled a generous amount of the seasoning on top. Let’s just say while I took some photos for this post I was snacking on the popcorn. I couldn’t help it, it’s so good!
For even more inspiration, check out some of SkinnyPop’s other popcorn flavors. And also create some of your own and let me know about them because I love popcorn!
