We Have a Dream…
|August 28, 2013||Filled under Social Justice|
For today’s anniversary I want to share my own dream as well as the dreams of some follow bloggers.
“I have a dream that one day we will all treat each other with dignity and respect, no matter the color of our skin, our gender, who we love, our religion, or our political persuasion.” – Lisa, Retro Housewife Goes Green
“Before I even had children I dreamed of a world where they would enjoy the world the same way I did and their grandparents did. Every choice I make I think of them and their children so they can enjoy this planet the way it was meant to be. I dream and hope that everyone else will make choices thinking of the planet and future generations too. ” – Leigh, Green4U
“I have a dream that my children won’t have to worry about GMOs, preservatives and artificial colors and favors in their food when they have children.” – Shannon, Working Mom Goes Green
“I have a dream that my children will grow up to see a country free of gun violence. I have a dream that people will no longer feel a need to carry a gun when they leave the house to feel safe. I have a dream that our country will become one of peace and non-violence.” – Sabine, Sabine of Suburbia
“I have a dream that children and people with special needs, learning disabilities and special dietary needs will not have to struggle so much to be included, accepted and respected by those around them.” – Gina, Mom-Blog
“I have a dream that one day all chemicals will be fully & honestly tested for true safety before being used in any products and that nature will be the #1 go-to for medical treatments and beauty products rather than drugs and chemicals.” – Jenny, Conscientious Confusion
“I have a dream that one day, people will abandon greed for generosity, selfishness for selflessness, materialism for simplicity, and fear for understanding.”- Diane, Big Green Purse
“I have a dream that fast food places become a thing of the past. like ghost towns and remember when.” – Karen, Best of Mother Earth
“I have a dream that the world will know the true power and potential of “freedom and justice for all.” This will include social justice, environmental justice, freedom from bondage, freedom from captivity, freedom from pollution of our air, water, land, food. Humanity will be united in leaving the world a better place than we found it. I have a dream that love and kindness will win.” – Brenna, Almost All the Truth
“I have a dream that one day people will be nice to each other and consider how their actions affect others, not just themselves.” – Kristina, The Greening of Westford
“I have a dream that three generations from now will enjoy polar bears, elephants and lions in the wild, not just locked in cages for our amusement. That one day, people will be able to look back on “this timeframe” as the time we made a difference and stopped our impact on the climate, rather than cursing us for a (seemingly) unstoppable path. And that politicians will do what’s right for future generations, not major corporation’s demands and profits.” – Julie, Green Philly Blog
“I have a dream that one day the internet will be free of racist, bigoted, hateful comments. I dream of the day when everyone is respected and appreciated for who they are inside and no one is judged by their skin color, gender identification, physical or mental disabilities, age, religion, political ideology, who they love, socioeconomic level or any of the myriad ways in which we currently divide ourselves. One love, y’all!” – Deanna, The Well-Groomed Hippie
