Most chocolate syrup contains nasty things like high fructose corn syrup and even the organic versions come in plastic. However, it’s quick and easy to make your own using natural ingredients. I make just a small amount since I’m the only one in the house that uses it but you can easily double it or even more.
- 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Touch of Salt
- Mix ingredients in pan.
- Heat on medium, stirring frequently until thickened. It will thicken a bit more once it’s cooled.
- Cool and pour into container and store in fridge.
