Green Gift Guide: For Her
| December 9, 2009 | Posted by Lisa Sharp under Uncategorized |
Here are some of my favorite gift ideas for the women in your life. Many of these items are on my wish list.
Beads For Life’s beautiful jewelry is made by women in Uganda. They pay fair wages so this jewelry is not only pretty but is making women’s lives better. As another bonus the beads are made from recycled paper!
These pretty bracelets are made from acai seeds. They are also fair trade and when you buy them from The Hunger Site you help support a cause.
This is my favorite planner, not only are they cute but they also are recycled and made with soy inks
These beautiful organic scarves are also sure to please. They are made of soft and warm organic cotton and are printed using water based inks.
How about some organic shea mousse? Winter means dry skin and this stuff is sure to help keep it at bay! Plus it’s handmade.

Christmas Meme

I stole this from Crunchy Green Lovin’ Mom.
1.) Have you started your Christmas shopping? Yup, other than a few little things for my husband I’m done.
2.) Tell me about one of your special traditions. We get up really early to go out to my parents house to eat breakfast and open gifts. It’s a fun lazy time then we come home and make lunch for the in-laws and have our Christmas with them, the rest of the day is totally lazy and relaxing.
3.) When do you put up your Tree? Well my husband LOVES Christmas so we put it out right after Halloween lol.
4.) Are you a Black Friday shopper? Not at all, I’m not much of a shopper, period.
5.) Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home? Stay in town but go to my parents house, I sometimes go to my g-parents as well but all are in the same town.
6.) What is your funniest Christmas memory? One day my mom and brother asked if I still believed in Santa because I was around 9 years old, well I hadn’t for years, honestly don’t remember when I did believe but I faked it because I was the youngest and I was afraid if I didn’t believe we wouldn’t get the gifts that “Santa” brought.
7.) What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time? That’s hard. I really like It’s A Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause, Home Alone and Miracle on 34th Street
8.) Do you do your own Christmas Baking? What’s your favorite treat? I do lots of baking all year but I normally bake some gingerbread cookies and other cookies around Christmas.
9.) Fake or Real Tree? I’m very allergic to the real thing so fake
10.) What day (as a Mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done? not a mom
11.) Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve? Rarely
12.) What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas? Christmas morning at my parents is always fun, I also like driving around the park to look at lights with my husband, we normally do that on Christmas Eve (which is our dating anniversary).
13.) What Christmas craft do you like the best? This year I’m making our Christmas cards and that has been fun. I also like crocheting gifts.
14.) Christmas music? Yes or No. And if yes, What is your favorite song? Love Christmas music. Oh Holy Night is my favorite
15.) When do you plan to finish all your shopping? This week, just need a few small things.

Send a Green Mom to Copenhagen!
| December 1, 2009 | Posted by Lisa Sharp under Uncategorized |
As many of you know I’m a member of the Green Moms Carnival and we are trying to get Diane MacEachern to Copenhagen as a citizen ambassador through the Huffington Post’s contest. After getting to know her through the Green Moms Carnival I can tell you she is a sweet and wonderful person.
After getting to know Diane through the Green Moms Carnival I am very happy to give her my endorsement. She will do a great job representing us “regular people” in Copenhagen. She is a wonderful mother, tireless activist, amazing writer, and a caring friend.
