Charmin Bears

There is something kind of ironic to me about the Charmin commercials. They feature happy little bears playing in trees and talking about a toilet paper that uses clear-cut trees.
P&G uses trees from the Boreal Forest. The Boreal Forest is an old growth forest that once gone will be gone forever. Even more ironic and sad is the fact that cutting this forest is hurting the vulnerable Grizzly Bear that lives there.
Yet P&G still uses bears and a forest to sell their toilet paper. While I don’t think any environmentalist (or greeny, whatever you call yourself) would be totally happy if they use no recycled content but at least for me I think it would be a huge step if they could stop clear-cutting.
Take just a few moments and ask P&G to stop clear-cutting and start using sustainable forest practices. They need to protect the bears and trees they use to advertise and not harm them.
